Course Description
This introduction to the United States focuses on the geography and history of the United States at its beginnings. Students will study the early interactions between the Native Americans and European explorers including the political, environmental, economic, and cultural impact. Life in colonial America and the hardships of creating a new nation will be explored.

Homework 40% of grade
Quizzes/projects 20% of grade
Tests 35% of grade
Class Participation 5% of grade
Technology
Students will do online research to complete maps, graphs, and charts. Edmodo will be used for quizzes and some assignments. Students will be required to register for the course through Edmodo
Communication
Students may come to see me most mornings between 7:30 and 7:45 for extra help or support. Vocabulary time is another opportunity to seek help or ask questions with their teachers approval. Parents are welcome to email (preferable) or call.
